What is the equivalent resistance of the following arrangement between M and N?

 


Answer:

For simplification, circuit is redrawn as shown below. 

After redrawing circuit, we can see that all three resistances are in parallel. Each resistance has value R. Equivalent resistance of three parallel resistances of value R is R/3.


So answer is R/3.

Note: If n number of resistances having value R are connected in parallel then equivalent resistance is R/n.
